Whole Person Physiotherapy in Victoria, BC
For those who are ready to understand their body and begin trusting what it's capable of.
You're stronger than you think.
If you've been living with pain, injury, or persistent symptoms, it's easy to lose trust in your body. Maybe you've already seen a few healthcare providers and you're still searching for answers. If that's where you are, you're not alone.
About Stephanie Meier
I didn't become a physiotherapist because I had all the answers. I became one because I was looking for them myself.
While I was a coxswain at Oregon State University, I developed ongoing back and leg pain that led me through the healthcare system as a patient. Like many people, I spent time searching for answers. Every practitioner I met added another piece to the puzzle, but I was left wondering why nobody seemed to be looking at the whole picture. That experience shaped the way I practise today.
What drew me to physiotherapy wasn't just the science. It was the people.
Physiotherapy gives me something that's becoming increasingly rare in healthcare: time. Time to listen. Time to ask questions. Time to understand not only what's hurting, but who you are, what matters to you, and what you're hoping to get back to. I've always loved teaching, coaching, and helping people discover what they're capable of, and I can't imagine more meaningful work than walking alongside someone during a difficult chapter of their life.
Today, I work from a whole-person perspective. Rather than focusing only on where you're experiencing symptoms, I'm interested in how the different regions of your body work together. Your symptoms are only one part of the story. Together, we'll look for the pieces that haven't been connected yet so we can better understand what's happening and create a plan that makes sense for you.
Some of my favourite moments happen when someone realizes they're capable of something they didn't think was possible.
Maybe it's moving without fear for the first time in months.
Maybe it's finally understanding why a symptom has persisted.
Maybe it's getting back to rowing, hiking, running, playing with your kids, or simply feeling like yourself again.
I also believe healthcare doesn't have to feel clinical or intimidating.
My appointments are collaborative, conversational, and human. We'll probably talk about what's happening around Victoria, swap recommendations for a great TV show or local restaurant, and celebrate the small wins along the way!
I don't expect every answer to appear on day one, but I do believe that when we take the time to understand the whole picture, connect the pieces, and stay curious together, meaningful progress is possible.
If you're curious, open to looking beyond the obvious, and ready to work together, I'd love to meet you.

Modalities I use
I practice Whole-Person Physiotherapy
Because your symptoms are only one part of the story.
When we focus only on where something hurts, we can miss the bigger picture. I don't believe the body works in isolated parts, so I don't treat it that way.
Together, we'll slow down, get curious, and look at how the different regions of your body work together. I'll spend time listening to your story, watching how you move, asking questions, and looking for the connections that may have been missed.
My goal isn't just to help you feel better. I want you to understand why you're experiencing what you are so that together we can create a plan that makes sense for your body, your goals, and your life.

How I can Help
I treat people, not diagnoses.
While I truly do see a wide variety of conditions, the people who find me are often looking for someone who will look beyond where it hurts and help them understand the bigger picture.
Some of the areas I commonly help people with include:
-
When pain has been around for a while or hasn't responded the way you'd hoped, we'll work together to understand what's keeping it going and explore a different way forward.
-
Maybe you've seen several healthcare providers and still feel like something is missing. Sometimes your symptoms aren't complicated. We just haven't understood how all the pieces fit together yet.
-
Assessment and treatment for concussion and other conditions affecting balance, dizziness, headaches, vision, and how these systems work together.
-
Whole-person physiotherapy that combines education, movement, strength, nervous system rehabilitation, and practical strategies for everyday life.
-
Whether you're returning to sport, training for an event, or simply want to keep doing the things you love, we'll build confidence in your body's ability to move well.
-
Helping you move more efficiently, build resilience, and better understand what your body is capable of.
who i serve
I work with people aged 10 years and older.
Some are athletes. Some are recovering from an injury. Some are living with persistent pain, hypermobility, dysautonomia, or symptoms that haven't made sense for a long time.
More than any particular diagnosis or demographic, I love working with people who are curious.
People who want to understand what’s happening in their bodies.
People who are open to asking questions, challenging old beliefs, and trying new approaches.
People who want a collaborative relationship with their healthcare provider and are ready to work together toward meaningful, lasting change.
If that sounds like you, I think we'll get along really well.
Services & Fees
Initial Assessment
90 minutes • $300
Our first appointment is intentionally longer because I don't want to rush getting to know you.
We'll spend time talking about your story, your health history, your goals, and what you've already tried. I'll complete a thorough assessment, explain what I'm finding along the way, and together we'll create a plan that makes sense for you.
This first visit includes plenty of education. While treatment may begin if it's appropriate, my priority is making sure we understand where you're starting and why your symptoms may be happening.
Follow-Up Appointments
60 minutes • $200
Each follow-up appointment includes reassessment, hands-on treatment when appropriate, education, movement, and exercise.
As we learn more about how your body responds, we'll continue adjusting your plan together. I prefer fewer, longer appointments because they give us the time to ask questions, reassess, learn, and make meaningful progress without feeling rushed.

Thank you for your patience.
I'll be the first to admit that my inbox can sometimes get away from me, but please know I've likely received your email and will get back to you as soon as I can.
Because I'm often in the clinic with clients throughout the day, and I'm also trying to maintain a healthy balance outside of work, it may take me a little longer to reply than a larger clinic with reception. I appreciate your understanding.
